What is
Menopause?
Just like puberty is the onset of sexual
activation, increased hormones and development of the female body together
with onset of menstruation,
menopause is also an important stage in the women's life involving
hormonal changes. Though menopause is somewhat opposite of puberty. Here
there is a slowing down of hormone productions, and a gradual decline in her
menstrual cycles.
Menopause in women basically refers to a period of
time, when the oestrogen and progesterone production from the ovaries gets
progressively lower, resulting in irregularities in menstruation until its
ultimate complete cessation. The woman losses her normal child producing
abilities upon completion of menopause.
The reduction in these hormone
levels effects the menopausal women in various ways besides impacting the
immune system of the body and leaving it vulnerable to diseases and health
conditions.

very high levels of stress and anxiety, thereby resulting in sleep
disorders, heart palpitations, increase in cholesterol, possible increase in
weight, and other related health conditions.
Another major concern is hot flushes and
sweating that can cause great discomfort.
And of course due to hormonal fluctuations,
her sexual system and drive is affected and she experiences pain and dryness
or difficulty having sex.
Just like puberty heralds the onset of active
womanhood, menopause technically heralds the end of her fertility. She is no
longer able to conceive or produce children.

womanhood that cannot be avoided or delayed. Even though it is often
