How to get rid of menopausal belly fat?

For abdominal fat, once you have acquired it, you have to treat menopausal belly fat just like any other belly fat...

 1. Reduce your calorie intake. You don't need to start dieting as per se dieting goes. What you basically need to do is re-organize your eating habits. Such as by reducing your portions, cutting out those fries, fried chicken, pizza or other fatty foods, eliminating sugary drinks - such as all soft drinks, all non organic fruit juices... go for sugar free stuff, reducing your carb intake or replacing it with filling fruits and vegetables will do the trick.

2. burn more calories than you consume. Be as active as you can. Avoid sitting down too much. Take the stairs as often as possible. Walk. and do your chores with lots of energy.

3. Exercise everyday. Using an elliptical trainer is a good option. Though any other cardio exercise that pushes up your pulse rate will work well. Although cardio alone by itself will not be sufficient to take off the layers of abdominal fat around your belly and thighs. Though it does ease up your metabolism, making it easier to work on your belly fat that much faster.

4. Then of course to lose belly fat specifically, weight training is the best option that works. you may start with small weights at first, then gradually increase them as you progress with your training.

5. At the same time you need to  drink lots of water to help it clear out the impurities from your body faster.

6. Eat lots of fiber. Because fiber helps in flushing out fat from the body. Since you will be reducing your calorie intake, you might consider taking a fiber supplement like metamucil or the psyllium husk fiber in the morning with lots of water.

7. Stretch your abs or abdominal muscles as much as you can... with all the cardio and weight training you will be doing, you don't need to go get an ab trainer exerciser or other such gimmick. What you basically need to do is... walk straight... yes, most of us have so gotten used to it, that our posture no longer feels out of balance to us. Just check up on it... are you walking around with your back bent a bit or your tummy thrust out a bit... straighten up. Focus on your balance and posture. Walk straight as often as you can. And try to cultivate a good posture. You could also take up some yoga poses for stretching your ab muscles. Or you might want to check out the exercise ball, for posture and ab training. As you start walking straight, your ab muscles will be stretching naturally, and you could very well end up shaving a few millimeters or more off your belly fat. Even the little bits count.

8. Make sure to get your full 7-8 hours of sleep every night. This is because recent research by Japanese scientists has shown that sleep deprived people tend to get fat faster. Because the lack of sleep triggers a hormone that stimulates cravings for rich high-calorie foods. Hence people who sleep less tend to indulge their appetites overtime. And those calories consumed at odd hours tend to get converted and stored around the body as fat. Since sleeplessness could be a major problem for women going through menopause, due to stress and hormonal imbalances, menopausal women need to take extra care to sleep well. 9. Menopausal women usually have very high levels of stress and anxiety. Adequate stress and anxiety management is essential not only for overall health, but also because it is important to avoid stress cravings or stress eating.
