Decision Making can be one of the greatest hurdles in your path forward...
Do
you choose this option or that option? What if You meet with failure with what
you choose? Is the choice right for you - You would prefer to be safe
rather than sorry? How do you make an intelligent decision that will be
the right decision for you? What's more sometimes the decision you are
about to make might be a 'For Life' decision, there is no turning back. In this
case it is critically important to make the decision that is right for you on
the physical plane as well as on the soul or intuition plane - You need
decision making with insight... How to make a decision?
Lets take a brief
look at decision making at the 'top':
Bush and his
administration are really lousy decision makers...
The
decision he made to invade Iraq turned out to be a big lie...
He ended up proving that the USA is one big bully and a murderer too... It
has the blood of its own valiant soldiers on its hands as well as the
blood of thousands of innocent children, women and men killed for no
reason in Iraq.
It has effectively destroyed that nation for several decades to come... It
has even taken away whatever dignity, livelihood and survival that had
existed there during whatever semblance of Government that Saddam Hussein
had.
What ever its modus operandi now, ask a child who gets mutilated or looses
his parents, or a mother who looses her innocent children...
I do not think they will ever be able to wipe away that trauma from their
minds for as long as they live...
Go ask a holocaust victim who experienced trauma as a young child, and
still bears that scar in his doting old age?, Can these wounds ever be
healed... No , Bush has effectively sowed the seeds of more hatred for the
Americans and the US nation... These could germinate anytime in the
future.
Another
outrageous lack of adequate decision making is demonstrated by their
mishandling of the Katrina crisis in the US of A itself... In reality ,
this was a crisis compounded by the government or lack of it.
A third major
decision making issue that is looming up and for which the Bush
administration is behaving like an Ostrich/pigeon that faces fear by
burying its head in the sand/hiding its face in its feathers hoping that
the issue will go away of its own accord and leave them alone and safe...
This is the issue of Global Warming...
Chunks of Glaciers are breaking off and melting away at an alarming rate
resulting in rising water levels; Permafrost is melting in Siberia;
Intense heat waves in France and other parts of the world have killed the
frail and the elderly...
Yet the Bush Administration is of the opinion that there is no major
crisis as yet... Global warming is a big hoax, as widely aired in the
media.
The change in weather has been experienced by even ordinary people... Yet
this is not a major crisis for the USA even though the rising water levels
are going to take over a large part of the coastal regions of Florida in
the US of A itself?
Is Bush dumb or
what?
Or does this prove that you do not need good decision making skills & abilities to
be the leader of the most powerful nation in the world?
If such a powerful
leader can make such blunders in important strategic decision making issues that
effect the survival of his nation itself... What more of mere individuals
like you and me?
Yes Individual
decision making can be equally tough.
We could be
quaking in our shoes, totally unable to make even basic decisions...
There are several
popular consensus among the common mortals roaming this earth : Types of
decision making:
1. One popular
viewpoint is:
If you have to select between two options... always go for the difficult
one, because this challenges you and makes you grow bigger than the
problem and better of course...makes you more creative, more capable of
handling even bigger issues, and growing lucky along the way of life.
2. The second
prevalent opinion is:
“If you can touch your nose the simpler way just by lifting up your hand,
you do not need to take your arm/hand all around your head to touch it”...
This means if there is a simpler way to reach something, why take the
harder way? This makes total sense too.
3. Though my
way of decision making is soul decision - Intuitive Decision making or
Decision Making With Insight:
If You are faced with two choices... Go listen to your heart, and your
intuition...
Which option do you really want to go with; Not the one that is the right
thing to do just because every normal person would be doing it; not because of
peer pressure or family pressure... but what do you really want to do?
What Feels Right deep down in your mind and heart?
Sleep over it for
a few days...
If this option
still pulls at your heart strings and you intensely wish that you could do
it, even though you know that taking the other path is what society
normally expects you to do, or is what you are obligated to do in respect
/love for your family?
Here is another
test:
Imagine yourself
several years down the road, perhaps in your doting old age, sitting by
the fire, looking back and telling the story of your life to your grand
children...
-
Would
you feel a deep regret for not having done something in lieu for the
choice you made?
-
or would
you feel intense relief that you did not do that stupid thing you were
about to do?
-
Is it a
responsible thing to do - Would you feel proud of your actions and tell
it proudly to your grand children?
-
Have you
discussed it with your family and friends NOW... for if you can't
discuss it intelligently with them now, I do not think you will be able
to discuss it with your grand children in the future?
-
Have you spent
some time reflecting on your family and friends opinions?
-
Are you well
informed about all the options open to you?
-
Are there any
flutters/butterflies in your stomach every time you think of it - If
yes, your intuition is trying to give you some kind of message and you
need to do some more thinking.
Just before
you make that final decision...
Take some
quite time and listen to those little internal signals coming from your
higher self, your intuition... does it feel right for you...Is your soul
in tune with the decision? Is it the responsible thing to do, have you
discussed it with your family and friends to obtain their opinions? have
you spent some time reviewing your families/friends opinions and measuring
their advice against your own? if it still feels just right than go and do
it.
4. Another
way of decision making is by measuring up the two options against your
goals:
I am sure you do have some long term goals in your life... or don’t you?
If you don’t, then it is imperative that you go and get some.
You need some goals... Are the decisions you are making in alignment
with your bigger picture of your goal... Will it help you or hinder you
along your path to your goal?
If it helps, than do it.
For you need to filter out and take the decisions that bring you to the
achievement of your goal the fastest.
5. Yet another
way, is looking at your current situations and analyzing what will be the
best choice for you right now...
Look at your greater interests... your life, your family and your friends.
Work by elimination. Eliminating the least effective choices, and
measuring final choice up against your intuition.
Your intuition should be your internal reference point or gauge. This
should always be used. It is the best and most reliable indicator of how
well the decision will work for you. Even some of the most successful
business people in history, have been known to consult their
intuitions for strategic decision making. This process is called soul
decision making
Also
it is important to make Intelligent decision... Here is how to make an
informed decision:
So Get Informed - Do some
research and background checks. Don’t just rely on your
emotions. Find out everything you can about your options, then keeping
your big picture in mind, and referring to your intuition make a choice.
Though if
you find that you have made a wrong decision, remember there is always a
possibility of stepping back and starting anew or correcting yourself. Or
even learning from your mistake and correcting your actions for the
future.
In summary:
-
What are your
options / choices available to you for decision making?
-
Research and Get informed.
Find out everything you can about them.
-
Look at your
big picture/ goals, which would be the best option in sync with your
goals?
-
Does the best
option feel right? – If yes, go ahead and make the decision. If not,
find out why... is it some kind of fear holding your back, can you
correct it, or do you need to go back and review the other options.
Haste in decision
making is not an option. Take your time and do only what feels right. And
if you are in a situation where you need to make an instant decision, your
intuition will usually be able to tell you what is right.
