Cure Attention Deficit Disorder in Child
My four year old was at
preschool, and was not paying adequate attention to his teachers instructions.
According to his teachers he was not concentrating, not paying attention, not
taking an active interest in things like puzzles and painting. They suggested
that we get him tested for Attention Deficit Disorder.
This kind of got me
worried and I rushed him to my family doctor. She told me that my son was
very young to be able to give any definitive recommendation at this stage,
and it was not wise to get him checked for such issues as this would kind of
label him as an ADD for the rest of his life.
Then somehow a few
months later, I had to take him to an eye doctor for an eye exam. The eye
doctor showed him some pictures to identify, to which my son was a bit slow
in responding... Poof the eye doctor suggested the same... get him tested
for ADD!
By now I was almost
traumatized, and rushed back to my family doctor, who upon my crazed
insistence, very reluctantly scheduled an appointment with a pediatrician
specializing in Attention Deficit Syndrome.
The two weeks wait
before the appointment date was total agony for me... I could barely think
about anything else and spent a lot of time poring over books, reading
articles, searching on the internet to gather as much information as I
possibly could about Attention Deficit Syndrome...
The appointment went
well, the pediatrician was of the opinion that my son was quite active,
playful and gave him adequate response... Since nothing definitive could be
said further until he got older, so he would not label him as an ADD as
yet.
Now my son is almost
seven years old. There have been no further complaints of the ADD nature. He
is progressing well, and his present teacher was quite amazed at his fast
analytical skills... What a relief this has been for me... just like a great
load has been lifted from my mind and shoulders.
