Asthma problem - Story of an Asthma Sufferer
Is your asthma a medical
condition, or an allergic reaction, whatever the cause the impact is traumatic…
It
could vary in severity from having to use an inhaler to clear up your
breathing passageways, to getting an injection to help you decongest, to
getting hospitalized and locked up in breathing apparatus and other tubes
and medical gadgets... to even worse medical disorders such as eroding up
and destroying your lungs... and your chances of life.
Whatever the stage,
asthma can be a very debilitating condition and can impose severe
limitations on the quality of life you can lead...
The
types of activities you can take part in, the types of environments you can
live in, the types of foods you can eat... in fact every aspect of your life
is impacted, besides the amount of medications you have to take and their
side effects, it is a never ending cycle sucking you down into a whirlpool
with no way out.
I remember, my own asthma
was always an allergic reaction or triggered by elements like dust,
pollen and perfumes. These were things I could not avoid, because they were
present all around me in the city where I lived. So even though it was just
an allergic reaction, I had to face countless sleepless nights full of
wheezing, coughing up congestive sputum from my bronchial airways and
gasping for breath.
Almost instantly, it
could get so severe that I was rushed to the emergency room several times to
get my airways decongested, with various chemicals being injected into my
body.
At one time my
parents got worried sick. They thought I had bronchitis. In panic, they
rushed me through the most intensive lung check ups and x-rays to check for
bronchial lessions and spots. I remember I was only fourteen at that time.
Yet, I could hardly ever take part in sports or other intensive physical
activity due to shortness of breath. Needless to say, my overall health was
a total write off. And the ventolin inhaler was my constant companion. I can
still vividly recall the blue inhaler with the dark blue cover. ultimately I
had to move away from the city of my childhood before I got some breath back
into my life and color in my cheeks.
What if you could grab
hold of a helping hand and haul yourself out to reasonable safety and better
quality of life, what if you could be asthma free forever, what if you could
find a cure for asthma, What if...
