-
The partner is trying to make up for unfulfilled
needs , desires or feelings.

As revenge or retaliation expressing feelings of
resentment in the relationship

As being something of a dashing novelty or

-
Psychological issues or attitudes acquired during
childhood based on relationships with parents or adults in one's life.
-
Unconsciously modeling friends or relatives or
people who have subconsciously inspired or influenced you.

together with strong third party ( external) attraction or motivation can become
a surefire recipe for any kind of temptation even cheating in a
relationship.

revulsion to your cheating lying attitude, that is compelling you to stop.
-
It could be that you have a strong loving partner
or family and you don't want to loose it all to short term gratification.
-
It could be that you feel out of control while
cheating - you feel powerless.
-
It could be that, just like an addiction or
substance abuse, cheating is controlling your life and ruining it.
-
You may have strong feelings of guilt, that are
not letting you live in peace or you feel ashamed of yourself.
-
It could be demolishing your self esteem or self
worth, and that's why you want to stop cheating.
It could be any number of reasons, however the
most important point is that YOU want to stop being unfaithful. You want to be
able to overcome temptation. You want to be in control. You've realized that
short term gratification isn't the answer to your inner conflicts.
Well , so How do I stop Cheating or how can I
Overcome Temptation - here are 3 Powerful steps to Overcoming Temptation:
1. Next time you take a shower, after you
are done take a really slow deep breath, until your lungs fill out; hold it in
to a count of 7 and then release slowly. Repeat this breathing pattern 5 to 7
times until you feel really relaxed. Then quickly in your mind, review your
feelings to the need to stop cheating or overcoming temptation. And as you
really start feeling the desperation or revulsion or guilt or shame to your
pathetic situation, pinch the forefinger and thumb of your right hand together.
Repeat this procedure for the next 5 - 7 days.
What you are simply doing here is that as per NLP,
you are crystallizing or programming the feelings that compel you to stop
cheating into the pinch of your forefinger and thumb of your right hand.
Next time, whenever you feel the pull towards
temptation, simply pinch together the thumb and forefinger of your right hand.
This will immediately well up those feelings of desperation inside you and it
will motivate you to 'say NO to temptation'.
For some people negative feelings may not be
powerful enough to compel them to stop. If you feel that your feelings of
desperation are not strong enough to make you overcome temptation, then think of
a time you felt really really strong and powerful. Repeat the whole procedure
outlined above with this feeling of power, and use it to stop cheating or
overcoming temptation.
