Natures
Victims - Please Donate to The Red Cross
Introduction
/ Attention Getter:
Last Saturday, when most of us were fast
asleep, people in Pakistan were running for their lives. As soon as I
heard the news about the earthquake, I rushed to call my sister in
sheer panic. When I finally did manage to connect with her, it was a big
relief for me... She, her family and her town had luckily escaped major
damage. But they were sitting out on their front lawns in the freezing
cold, waiting for aftershocks… yes they lived through 27 of them!
Others were not so lucky. Whole towns and
villages had been flattened. Several schools had crumbled down crushing
and burying alive hundreds of children. At least 70,000 people were
crushed and buried alive to death and 2.5 million rendered homeless
without food, warm clothes or shelter in the freezing rain and cold of
their hostile terrain.
That’s Why I am asking you to donate to the
red cross
Need:
In just this past year, we have seen
….Millions of people die, … millions more rendered homeless:
-
First it was the boxing day Tsunami
in Asia which impacted almost the entire world.
-
Then there were several floodings, forest
fires in BC itself followed by mudslides/landslides,
-
Hurricanes Katrina and others,
-
Then this South Asian earth quake to
top it off.
-
As you all know, we in Vancouver are still
waiting for our big one to strike.
I know every school year I prepare an
emergency relief kit for my son at school.
I know most of you do have a torch light,
candles, batteries, water and some edibles stashed away somewhere in your
homes…
Satisfaction:
But is that enough,
Yes Red Cross is everywhere:
-
They have helped in the Tsunami relief.
-
They were their for the Hurricane victims.
-
They are right now working hard to pull
out people from the Earth quake debris.
-
They were there during the forest fires in
BC, during the mudslides.
-
They will be there to help you when our
Big earthquake strikes Vancouver.
Visualization
For
When you are lying helplessly buried and
injured, slowly suffocating under tons of rubble,
Or when you are sitting on the roof top of
your house clutching your kids and pets, with strong flood currents
swirling angrily all around you, seeing dead bodies and debris floating by
, and waiting endlessly…
That chugging red cross boat or their
strong, warm hands will be there to pull you to safety and hope once
again.
Conclusion:
So I urge you to donate generously to the
Red Cross. Most of you have just celebrated Thanksgiving, and are now
preparing for the Christmas season, It is the season for giving.
So open your hearts and wallets and
donate to the Red Cross. With the intensive geological activity going
around… as seen through earth quakes, Tsunamis, Hurricanes, floodings,
more earthquakes... our big one is not very far behind.
Go and give to the Red Cross Now, to
enable them be there for you. Thank you.
