We can’t control people or events but we can control our response to them.

Change your perception from 'How can I change that person's behavior?' to 'How am I reinforcing or triggering that person's behavior?'

An interestingly sad but true fact is that 90% relationships are destroyed over stupid and petty arguments. The differing opinions usually being a figment of imagination of either party involved, which is blown out of proportion due to a misguided sense of ego. Sit down and analyze any such situation cold headedly and you will find:

• There was no argument in the first place.

• Whatever difference there was,  was really very petty and yes, stupid.

• A big misguided ego was the root cause that started it all and kept the fires burning to the end.

Stop. Sit down and THINK. What is more important to you:

• A good, happy, healthy relationship with peace of mind.

• or anger, hatred, breakup, ugliness for the rest of your life.

Remember life is so short. Why waste it on petty differences, when you can achieve much more success and happiness in all walks of life just by a small shift in your perception of a situation.

A small tuck here, a small smile there instead of an argument is all what is required to dissolve all your negative energy and replace it with positive, healthy energy.

An interesting fact is, if something triggers an instantaneous anger in you, don't respond right away. Go away, do something totally different. Very soon you will find the right tactful solution to deal with the situation. This tactic is being employed by some of the most successful business managers around the world to deal with stressful situations in their line of work. And it works very successfully. In business terms it is called the power pause formula.

Remember  If we do what we always did, we get what we always got. Keep changing what you do until you get what you want. Yes change your action plan if the current one does not produce the desired results.

 Have you experienced this strange phenomenon: say if you go and buy a specific color and model of car you suddenly start noticing all those other cars of the same color and model. Even though previously you may never have seen so many and you don’t feel unique anymore.

This is because there is magic in your mind. Previously you were not looking for it, so you did not notice it. Now even unconsciously your mind is tuned in to recognize your car color and model, so it recognizes all the others too. If you look for it you will find it.

Similarly, There is nothing good or bad in life, it is how you perceive it to be good or bad. If you perceive it to be good you will find the goodness and if you perceive it to be bad you will experience all the bad stuff. Change your perception and see it for yourself. So don't focus on fault finding.
