Some Yucky Food Delicacies From Around The World

Yes... Yucky food recipes of the world. By Yucky, I mean really yucky foods that are or have been considered at some time period delicacies in exotic parts of the world:

What say you about roasted Human flesh? Roast it over a bon fire, sprinkle some seasonings, salt and....ugh. Yes as early as the 1970's some cannibal (Human flesh eating tribes) were purported to be living deep in the African heartland. Even as early as the 1980's there were rumors of strange Human disappearances in remote Eastern parts of Nigeria- A West African Country. These disappearances were attributed to certain man eating tribes living along the border there. Then there was the story of those air plane crash survivors in a very remote location who survived by eating the flesh of their dead companions. Or those stories (rumours) of people living in famine stricken lands... you get the picture? And some tribes in India do it as a religious ritual - eating the dead human flesh - this is a well documented story.

How about roasted wild rat and the domestic mouse [Africa]...
Maybe not as yucky, and absolutely true. Yes, these can be digested when even more exotic snakes and other slimy things are being considered delicacies in Asia (China, Korea etc.)

Then there are locusts, even fireflies who are netted, fried and salted and eaten with absolute relish in Africa - They constitute an excellent source of protein. The technique of capturing fireflies is quite unique. After a rain storm, just leave an outdoor light source on in the night. Place a bucket of water right under it and wait. Swarms of these flies are attracted to the light then drop in the water as their final ritual.

There is this un-authenticated rumor /joke floating around in third world countries who employ korean engineering contractors for their development works, all the stray dogs start disappearing off the roads shortly after the arrival of the korean team. Would you like to eat your pet?

Yes there are people who enjoy vital organs of animals [cows/sheep] such as tongue, intestines, lungs, stomach, even the uterus and genitals... Have you ever had eyeball soup?

How about wriggly slimy worms that taste like chicken?

True there is one village in Italy whose speciality is worm infested cheese. They say the worm create a special flavor in the cheese.

And as shown on 'Rippley's believe it or not', There is at least one high end restaurant that specializes in serving bugs and insects like cockroaches ...you get the picture... How about roach soup or caterpillar Lollipop?

Yes there is at least one coffee shop that specializes in serving  gourmet coffee made from coffee beans that have been predigested and excreted by farm animals. They say the flavor is superb.

Or say how about frozen monkey brain eaten raw directly from the skull...they say it tastes better then any ice cream out there.

What say you- Yummy or Yucky? But delicacies nonetheless to those who eat them.
