Flowers offer a universal appeal. They have been used from the most ancient to the most modern day to express those special feelings for which words may not be very adequate at times. Right from the most romantic to the most spiritual, intimate, distant, sober and even professional moments. Flowers are the way to go. So if you have received flowers at some very special moment in your life, I am sure you can still fleetingly recall that very unique emotion you experienced at that time. Wouldn't you love to immortalize those exquisite memories? Think dried flower arrangement. How to Make a Dried Flower Arrangement:Yes you can dry those very special blooms and preserve those memories for ever. Now, don't you turn away thinking that this will require some expertise, procedure or materials beyond your means, interest or effort. Nothing of the sort. I am going to tell you how I successfully dried my own bouquet of roses, I had received on my 7th wedding anniversary. Come on I am no flower and garden person, I can't tell the difference between a wild flower, a tropical flower, a spring flower or a summer flower for that matter. So if I can do it, you can too. I am telling you the totally 'non-professional' home based mom way. Here's what I did. When I received the bouquet I had it arranged in a vase with water to keep it fresh. About three days later, I noticed the flowers getting slightly 'droopy'. So I picked the whole bunch out of the water, tied a rubber band around the stalks to hold it in a bunch, and hung it upside down using a clothes hangar and a clothes pin, in my laundry room, as it is the room which stays dark most of the time unless I am using it. Then I 'forgot about it'. About 17 days later, I took down the whole bunch. I removed the rubber band, separated the individual flowers, snipped the ends of some of the stalks, removed a few leaves here and there and arranged them in my vases. Viola! I had got a beautiful dried flower arrangement. It is not only adding beautiful color to my living room , but is also a very happy memory preserved for a long time to come. Of course, I could have got better results if I had hung each of the flowers individually instead of in a bunch. Remember to hang them upside down in a dark room. Also please remember this is the non professional, totally organic way of drying flowers. For more professional results, specially formulated flower drying kits are available over the counter in most arts and crafts shops. Dried flower arrangements look beautiful in your living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, in fact anywhere you want the elegance, color and beauty without any hassles associated with live plants. Of course the memories they hold are priceless. More Articles on Dried Flower Arrangement / Flower Art:
