How to Cope With Breaking Up - Focus on the
Best Part of Breaking Up
Every cloud has a silver lining and so does a break up. The best part of
breaking up is that you get a chance to review your life up close and make
positive changes to start over again.
The worst part of course being the dealing with the agony and regret of breaking
up, coping and overcoming the anxiety, depression and all the negative
hurtful emotions and feelings.
If you can put a handle on your feelings and emotions turning the negative ones
off and the positive ones on, then you can turn around and change a break up
into a very exciting time of your life.
Think about it.... when you are planning a short summer vacation, aren't you
filled with anticipation and excitement. And find it thrilling to plan every
little detail. You can almost feel the thrilling sensations of excitement
tingling through your body.
Breaking up gives you exactly the same chance. If only you would stop
looking at the closing door of relationship long enough to notice all the
multiple doors of opportunity opening up before you. For instance a breakup
gives you the chance to plan for:
-
Going back to school
-
Changing your Job
-
Exploring / uncovering your inner callings or creative instincts.
-
Working towards your dreams.
-
Planning where you would live.
-
Planning travel or any other activities that have always been on your back
burners of your to do list.
-
Indulging in some self improvement.
-
Taking better care of yourself.
-
Reviewing the qualities you would like to see in a future partner. Probably even
profiling your soul mate.
-
Finding a soul mate and living happily every after.
-
Living on the edge.
Be true to yourself. With so many exciting changes and activities to look
forward to, how can breaking up be anything but exciting. And there is
nothing holding you back from moving on, except yourself.
If only you can muster the courage to step over the regrets of breaking up.
You are free to Fly.
Remember that regrets are nothing but regrets... false feelings appearing
real. You are dwelling on feelings for things that happened in the past...
Remember the past is done with. It is all gone and will never return. Don't live
in the past. The past is always left behind. I will say it again - Be true to
yourself.
Decide what are the values you want to live by - peace, happiness, joy,
integrity, excitement, adventure...? Whatever the values you chose to live by,
you'll never find them in the past. So stop searching for them there -- Because
they are right in front of you -- in the present. Now. Here. So wake up and
discover yourself.
