Why People Resist Change -- Why people behave the way they behave

 People all over the world love to do things the simple way and see change as a big effort, requiring new thoughts, beliefs, actions and attitudes.

They are too lazy to learn anything new or too egoistic to give up anything old. In my opinion the human ego is the most critical element in implementing change...

There are people so egotistic that they will prefer to continue enduring extreme hardships just to prove themselves right instead of being right or doing right. Change is viewed as a threat to their old way of thinking.

People love the rich and abundant and lazy life… they want to have friends , they want to be appreciated, they want to be loved, they want to be admired. They want to be rich, they want to enjoy life, they want to have security, they want to have financial stability

Yet,

• They are covetous,

•  they are clinging they are resistant to change,

•  they want to live right instead of living successfully,

•  in the sense of being right they are ready to inflict pain on themselves and others,

•  they are unforgiving,

• they are revengeful,

•  they are jealous,

•  they want to blame everbody and everything for their afflictions rather than themselves,..

•  they are so self riteous… they think that what they think , believe and do is right and what the other does is wrong,

• they try to find fault in the others while proving themselves right..

•  They survive on the competitive plain…

• they think it is right ot push someone down just to get ahead themselves…

• And they will go to any extremes even killing, hurting, maiming, destroying to prove themselves right and others wrong.

Here I will again give the example of The father in the cities and villages of the  third world who tries to prevent his children from going to school and learning new skills, is in his limited opinion trying to protect them… yet in his ignorance prolonging their misery, poverty and hopelessness… they are trying to remain the same.

The fear of the unknown, the need to conform to way things were always done , and the egoistic need to prove oneself right instead of trying to be right is what makes people resistant to change.
