How to Keep Going When You Feel Like Quitting

If you are feeling frustrated and feel like quitting, life seems like a big burden. Everything seems meaningless. you feel hopeless. Not knowing what to do. Where to turn. You just want to 'throw in the towel' and crawl under the covers. You want to give up. Quit.

Yet... 'Quitters Never Win and Winners never quit'... isn't that what you have heard so often from all those so called self help gurus. Well Duh... they are rolling in millions while you are seething in shear frustration.

And then you also heard that 'it's not what happens to you that matters - It's how you react to the situation that is important'. Huh... It all sound's good when it's not happening to you.

But when the sht is hitting the fan all around you, you want to give up and crawl under a stone. You wish someone could hold your hand and lead you out of this freaking mess. Stop Being a Big Baby Right Now!

Haven't you heard that when you are driving a car, and your attention is on the trees on the side of the road, instead of on the road ahead of you, then you simply end up hitting the trees, instead of driving past them. Yes, you always drive into whatever you are focused on...

But that's driving and this is your life - how does it relate... Well, you are driving along the road of your life - You are driving Your Life - Aren't You?

Yes, So here's what you need to do...

Take a long deep breath right now - fill up your lungs... Good. Now release it through your mouth. Take another long deep breath and release it... Good. Now take a third really really Long deep breath and release it... Excellent!

You are now ready to move on. Here's how to keep going when you feel like quitting:

  •  First de-stress or relax by taking a few deep breaths.

  • Disconnect from the frustration - you could take a short temporary break - such as go take a week end off and visit some beautiful natural location. OR just go take a really long walk in a park. Walk at least several kilometers.

  • When you return from your 'mini vacation', simply refuse to focus on the frustration, instead Focus on the road ahead.

  • This means that you just take the Next Step. And then the Next Step. And then the Next Step.

  • Keep going one step at a time.  Keep focusing on what's next. Keep doing your best.

Yes, keep taking the next step, and keep doing your best. You will one day be pleasantly surprised to discover that you left the frustration way behind on the road of life.
